Bug Out Bag - You Ready to Roll?

The bug out bag is has nothing to do with pests nor is it a bag to keep handy when you feel like you are about to lose your mind and bug out. The bug out bag is your stand by bag just in case it hits the fan.

The bug out bag is kept handy by many law enforcement officers and soldiers. They keep emergency gear handy in case they are deployed without much time to prepare.
These current crazy days in the United States has many folks planning for the worst whether it be a brown out, natural disaster or some kind of terrorist type attack. The bug out bag is kept handy for these type events.

This article is meant to help you locate a rugged and durable bug out bag that will serve the necessary purposes. I do not want to over do it on all the features of these type bags or go into great detail about what every zipper and compartment does. I will leave that to the website.

To Bug Out or Not to Bug Out, That is the Question

All I am doing here is giving you my humble opinion on bug out bags that I have used and am highly satisfied with. There are a few companies that make these bags that I would recommend to anyone.
I guess my favorite bug out bag company is Maxpedition Gear. Their bags are top notch and will last your forever with their superior durability.

About the only other extremely durable bug out bag that I would recommend would come from Hatch. These are more aligned for the law enforcement officer but can be used by anyone. They are very durable bags.

hmm….I have been looking around the internet for a while, now. The “Bug Out” bag that impressed me is http://www.outdoorgb.com/p/Snugpak_Bergen_Rucksack/
. Now THAT is for bugging out. When I decide to drop off the face of mankind (I’ll still be on Earth, somewhere) That is what I will be taking with me.

Bug out bag. Try to take foods that do not take water to prepare, I see so many 72 hour
kits with things like, instant oatmeal, hot chocolate & soups. The water should be for
drinking & take vitamins & protein bars. I also take a bottle of fiber, not only is
fiber needed but it also swells for a full feeling. I came across what is called
Lifecaps. They are a capsule that has everything needed to survive without food with
the exception of water. It is full of vitamins & minerals plus Iodine. Anyway, you take
three of them a day & drink water. I can actually take enough food in one backpack to
las 6 months because of these little Lifecaps, protein bars, fiber & water. I will run
out of water in a week so I do carry a small filter & a couple of those straw water
filters that filter the water as you suck.
You do not always have the ability or time to heat water to make soup or oatmeal. Anyway,
after I bought 25 bottles I found a coupon code & bought 75 bottles more. The coupon code
is… healthcap It will get you 33% off. There are also sites that have those filter straws
that are cheaper than any of the stores around here. (SLC) I think they are a really good
idea along with some purification pills. I cannot remember the sites off the top of my head
but you can Google for aquamira filter straw. Aquamira is the manufacture but do not buy
off there site because I have found them for almost 1/2 what they want on their own site
on other sites. Good luck, Gods speed & get serious about your bug out bag!

I agree on Maxpedition being a great bag. My bug out bag is a Maxpedition Vulture II and I really like it. I haven’t finished buying all the stuff that will go in it, but so far it seems more than big enough.
