The Ninja warrior strikes up the black clad silent killer in my boyish imagination. And, according to much historical documentation, this was basically true although the origins of the ninja are mostly unknown.

The definition of the ninja by way of breaking down the word itself would mean the art of silence or going without being perceived. It can also mean the art of ninjutsu; a form of martial arts.

The ninja was skilled in many talents to include assassination, martial arts, espionage and many other deadly arts. These were not guys or gals that you would want to tick off.

The ninja were not strictly involved with espionage. This is just some of the more noted aspects of their existence. They were also renowned for being expert with quick kill weapons; which were used against the deadly samurai.

The quick kill weapons came in many forms from knives, to sword and also sickle. The ninja would use weapons that were very menacing but could be deployed quickly and easily with as little effort and detection as possible.

I can imagine several types of knives that would be favored by the ninja should he exist today and have access to our superior manufactured knife makers. Let me give you a few of my picks and then we’ll continue the story.

Ok, where were we? The ninja was looked down upon in the early part of history as a dark killer or assassin. However, many leaders, Daimyos and Shoguns were in fact ninjas. They kept quiet their dark skills as not to bring shame to themselves.

In early Japanese history, it was believed that ninja groups were formed in villages and small towns to protect them from robbers and criminals. It was not until later that the ninja hierarchy actually developed.

It was also believed that many ninjas were women. They were skilled in the art of seduction and silent killing to be able to extract information from the enemy and silently dispose of them. That’s certainly not fair in my humble opinion.

Ninjas developed larger martial organizations that were under the authority of a Daimyo. These ninja organizations were kept very quiet and the ninjas within never spoke of their existence. These organizations took part in many silent espionage type missions and tasks.

The ninja is a very interesting warrior. I wonder if they still exist today. I am curious if ninjas exist in Japan operating silently under political, military and private wealthy leaders. I am certain they do as I’m sure that we have something very similar right here in the United States.

I’ve written a bit of history about Bowie knives before and a Bowie knives sale just wouldn’t be right without recognizing James Bowie himself and his contribution to making this knife famous.

Take a look at Shop for Bowie Knives or Just Learn a Little History for a little history lesson. I enjoyed doing that entry as history is extremely interesting to me, especially when it comes to knives.

Take a look at our Bowie Knives Sale.

The Bowie knives sale will be kicked off from the Fighting Knife blog as well as from the newsletter. This will give all newsletter subscribers a chance at the deep discounted Bowie knives as well as anyone who stumbles by this blog. Get ‘em while they’re cheap.

We carry a huge amount of Bowie knives from the biggest and best manufacturers such as Cold Steel, Benchmade and many more. Don’t miss out on our Bowie Knives sale. Stop by.

Small locking blade knives are the way to go for every day carry. Carrying a pocket knife is a must for someone like myself and many of you out there. I have carried all sorts of locking blade knives to include small and large. The thing that seems to play the most important role in the long run is the size of that knife if you’re going to carry it in your front pocket.

I don’t want to tell you what you should carry in the way of small locking blade knives, but I can strongly recommend that if you’re not used to carrying a pocket knife or have never carried one before, you may want to consider purchasing a small locking blade pocket knife to get you started.

A lot of men go out and purchase these locking blade knives that are just way too big to lug around in your front jean pocket. I promise you, that thing may look mean, but you will certainly get tired of it wearing on your joint when you’re seated especially if you drive a lot or work in an officer.

Small locking blade knives are the way to go for the active gentleman. You won’t wear yourself raw and getting that thing in and out of your pocket will not be a problem.

I had this old Army buddy that carried this huge Buck knife in his front pocket. He loved to wear Wrangler jeans and I assure you that his pocket knife wore him out. When he reached into his pocket to retrieve it, you could see the grimace on his face as he had to put forth the effort to tug it loose. When he sat down, you had to life when sharp pain recognition would display across his face as the butt of that folded in blade would plunge into his hip joint.

Again, let me emphasize, go with the small folding blade knives. You won’t regret it.

Benchmade Knives brings to mind a sturdy locking system, some of the finest and sharpest steel on the market and an overall hard-core product that will not fold under pressure. I use a Benchmade Pardue Tanto automatic knife for work and find it to be one of the most reliable knives that I’ve ever carried.

This blog entry is dedicated to the 5 meanest looking Benchmade Knives that I think are on the market. This doesn’t mean they are my favorite Benchmade Knives or the best out there by no means, this is simply my take on mean looking knives.

#5 Benchmade Presidio, Black Aluminum Handle, Black Blade, Foliage Green

#4 Benchmade Rukus, Black G-10 and OD Green Micarta Handle, Plain, Clip

#3 Benchmade Rant Bowie, Black Santoprene Handle, Plain, Black Blade

#2 Benchmade Snody Axis Folder, G-10 Handle, Black Blade, Tanto, Plain

#1 Benchmade Osborne Rift, Black/Gray G10 Handle, Black Blade, ComboEdge

Ya gotta love Benchmade Knives and I certainly do. I guess benchmade has progressively moved up on my list of favorite manufactured knives over the years. Every time I order one for myself or a customer and get it in my grubby hands, I am reassured that these are of the highest quality on the market.

Take Care Folks,

There are a slew of Karambits out there. You have the standard Karambit style knives and then growing in popularity is the folding karambit knife. Take your pick, they’re both awesome tools of defense and often-times offense.

#1 Emerson Karambit Fixed Blade

This is an extremely gruesome looking knife coming from Emerson’s line of Karambit Style Knives. This nasty looking thing looks like the talon of a terrifying Terradactyl swooping out of the sky to rip you to shreds and turn you into dinner. Nice thought, huh?

#2 Mantis Knives MK-2 Karambit, Cinq II Karambit

The Mantis knife company is no slouch in producing gruesome looking knives. You’d have to check out the Mantis knife line to verify my claim. But, to be more specific, the MK-2 is one mean looking karambit if I’ve ever seen one.

#3 Emerson Karambit, Black-T Finish, Plain

Again, on our list of 5 gruesome karambit syle knives is yet another karambit from Emerson. I really like this black-t finish on this blade. It’s very tactical-like and makes a menacing little blade.

#4 Cold Steel Steel Tiger

Cold Steel knives makes some of the toughest blades in the business and they didn’t hold back when it came to the Cold Steel Steel Tiger. Another of many gruesome looking karambit style knives that I wouldn’t want to see clutched in the hand of some thug in a back alley somewhere.

#5 Tops Knives Scorpion’s Tail Karambit

Tops knives doesn’t exactly call the Scorpion’s Tail a karambit style knife in their write up, but I assure you, it meets the criteria for one of the many gruesome looking karambit style knives as far as I’m concerned. This is one ugly and mean looking little tool of butt-kicking.

Karambit sylte knives easily fall into the Fighting Knife genre, as they would be lethal in the hands of a trained warrior. I certainly wouldn’t want to face one without about 500 meters and a good long range rifle.

Check out the Emerson The Complete Karambit DVD Set of 4 sometime to get you up to speed on karambit style knives combat and training. It’s a great training aid that will absolutely bring you up to speed.

I have drastically reduced the prices in the entire Knife & Supply Company store for a limited time. This is part experiment and part promotion. The prices were already some of the lowest on the Internet, but I want to see how low we can bring them, and still pay the bills.

I don’t know how long that I’m going to run this promotion. And, this is the only source of this information available on the Internet besides the upcoming newsletter. So, if you’re pondering on a new pocket knife, now is the time to go grab it.

I’m also working on an upcoming special that I had run in the past with great success and it brought a lot of value to my customers out there. We gave free shipping on Maxpedition product packs. It went over well and we sold out very quickly. As a matter of fact, I got a quick education on inventory management and ordering.

I’ve added an email list sign-up block to the right of this post. The newsletter comes out about every week or two, sometimes a bit longer, with specials, coupon codes, news and a variety of other topics. Sign up!

We also got in a few new knives from RAT Cutlery. Good Stuff!

I sure hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Mine went well. We had family in and watched a nice little fireworks demonstration. Who would’ve thunk that a little town like Eagle Pass, TX could put on such a nice little show.

I want to introduce our new Clearance, Overstock and Open Box section at Knife & Supply Company, LLC. We get a return every now and then and have to reenter it into inventory to get it back into circulation. This is not a problem but we’ve decided to try something a little different.

The idea is to bring even more savings to our valued customers. So, we’ve created this new clearance section to bring you some very deep discounts. Take a gander at what we have to offer in this new section and maybe you’ll find that something that you’ve been looking for at a huge discount.

Every item in our clearance section is brand new and has never been used. Many of these items are returns from customers for a variety of reasons. We ensure that these returns are in brand new condition before accepting them and placing them in this section.

Keep this clearance list bookmarked because it will change often. Also, grab what you want right away because most of these items are in single quantity only. Once it sells, it is long gone. The only catch to purchasing from the clearance section is that we cannot accept a return on it.

Frankly, we don’t take returns on this clearance section because we have discounted these items so much that it would just cost us too much to go through the entire return process. So, buy it, and hang on to it.

Thanks Folks,
Cole

I can remember being a kid like it was yesterday. Well, maybe I’m still there mentally. And a large and important part of being a kid was the day my Dad gave me my first knife. It was like a passage into manhood.

Now, I was very young, maybe seven or eight or so. I can’t recall exactly, but I can sure recall how good it felt to be given a knife and given the lecture and secrets of manhood that came with it.

Always carve away from the body.

Never show it off in public.

Keep it sharp.

Respect it.

It’s not a toy and if treated like one, it’s gone.

Keep it oiled and maintained.

I was so honored to have that knife. But, I think the think that struck me more was that my Dad trusted me to own my very own. No longer was I a kid that had to be watched and looked over every time I used a blade, I now got to carry one in my pocket. Man, what a feeling!

I still feel that way to this day. The knife I carry is not just a piece of sharpened steel. My knife is about respect and honor. I will always respect that blade and respect those around me when I have my knife in possession.

These things are instilled in kids when young by parents. Carrying a pocket knife is not something to fear or turn into some sort of monster. It’s a passage into manhood that carries a great respect and honor with it. It teaches a kid to have respect.

Kids lack responsibility and accountability these days so much more than ever before. The parents are terrible and teach them nothing. They give them no responsibility or accountability. How are these youngsters going to make it as adults when their parents barely do. I guess that’s why our country is slowly creeping into this socialistic means of survival that the government hands out and the citizens jump on. That’s another subject for another time.

I don’t think a kid owning a pocket knife turns him/her into a man/woman. But it sure gives them something to be proud of and accountable for.

Take Care,
You’ve got the sleek look of a tactical knife and the rugged build to go with it. These are a top-notch, well-built and hard core line of fair priced knives.

The Smith and Wesson Black Ops Knife features a very solid aluminum handle that just naturally feels good in your grip. You’re not going to drop this knife when engaged in any kind of high speed activity or if you’re simply sitting around and working over a piece of wood.

What do you think of when it comes to Black Ops? Some secret CIA mission down in South America? Well, that’s what the idea of this knife is all about. It propels you into that feeling of being able to accomplish any blacked out mission with the least of support, just you and your The Smith and Wesson Black Ops Knife. Little far-fetched, huh?

I keep four of The Smith and Wesson Black Ops Knife in stock as much as possible. They sell pretty quick and reasonably so. I personally own a slew of Smith & Wesson knives and they are solid made for a dang good price. The great part about these knives for anyone that does field work, you won’t break the bank if you lose one.

The Knife from the Hunted is one of the coolest looking knives I have laid eyes on in quite sometime. I’d be fibbing if I professed to owning one because I don’t. These knives aren’t cheap. But I absolutely guarentee that you get every cent worth.

TOPS has it down pat when it comes to tough looking knives crafted for professionals. The Tom Brown Tracker, otherwise known as the knife from The Hunted, is one awesome piece of cutting and hacking hardware.

TOPS knives are made from information gathered by folks who use knives in the field in their profession or hobby. These knives are built to last and durable as heck.

I did a previous post on this knife from The Hunted so I’m not going to carry on too much about it. But please, take a look at my prior entry and learn a little bit about this high speed knife.
