Inspired to Touch on Some Fine Hunting Knives

Good Morning,

It sure looks pleasant outside my window. I’m overlooking a few trees and several rooftops. I don’t live in a big hectic city. I live in Eagle Pass, TX, a quiet little border town sitting on the U.S. side of the river across from Piedras Negras.

I can actually here birds singing outside the window right now. They must love humidity. Walking outside in the backyard this morning with my coffee didn’t inspire me to sing one bit. Guess that’s one difference between man and bird.

I wrote an article this morning and submitted to as many channels as possible over the Internet. I called it, “Look Sexy While Field Dressing a Deer - Let Me Teach You How”. I guess I felt like that would grab some attention.

This article is your basic field dressing guide for a deer. I don’t know if a person could look sexy while doing that or if they’d even care to. What the heck, that’s what I called it.

Thinking about field dressing brings up another point. That point would be some good hunting knives. And, I’m always looking for a reason to talk about knives, so here we go. These are just a few of my favorites.

The Fallkniven H1 Hunting Knife is a compact and easy to grip blade. You will be working with 3G steel and a comfortable Kraton handle. I could clean guts all day with this beauty.

Below we have the Marbles Gut Hook Knife with the bone handle. This is a carbon stainless steel 4 ½ inch blade. The handle is made of a nice looking jigged bone.

For those of us who didn’t get our allowance this month, we will find the Gerber Gator II knife to be very economical. I’ve always liked Gerber hunting knives because I don’t hesitate to get busy with one. I’m not worried about snapping a tip or damaging the knife because I don’t feel like I had to skip the truck payment to purchase one.

Are looks important when it comes to a good hunting knife? Well, I sure like to show mine off, so I’d have to say yes. Does that make me fickle? I don’t even use the word fickle. Anyway, back to business.

The Buck Skinner is one good looking hunting knife. It almost looks like something that would be strapped to the side of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

This knife features a 4 inch extra wide blade made from 420HC steel. The black phenolic handle features a nifty looking aluminum guard. The overall length of this knife is 8.25 inches.

Well, that does it for my hunting knife musings.
