Knives are Illegal, Whether They are or Not

Here is yet another article coming out of Orange Country, California that demonstrates the government’s attack on those who enjoy knives and carry pocket knives.
Carrying a knife might bring criminal record
The article goes on to discuss how complicating state laws are when it comes to defining what is a legal knife and what isn’t. There are so many versions of pocket knives out there; some with thumb studs, assisted openers, lock-backs and a variety of others.
A law enforcement officer has little time to spend studying law and as the article stated, California law on knives has been amended three times already in one year. I assure you that a police officer is not going to spend his free time trying to keep up with the silliness of law-makers.
The ignorance of law enforcement officers plays right into the hands of prosecutors. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, remember—even if it changes three times in one year. So, what you have here is the cops not knowing the law and the innocent public not knowing the law.
With everyone ignorant to the law and unable to spend the massive amount of time to do daily research on what freedoms are still retained, the public walks around at the mercy of the government and the court system.
It appears that the moral of this story is simple. Do not carry a knife, whether it is legal or not. The system will arrest and prosecute you regardless of whether your pocket knife is legal or illegal.
You can be arrested for having a perfectly legal knife, sit in jail for a month or two, face your trial, plead guilty to a much smaller sentence (usually time served) or plead innocent and risk going to jail for a few years and stiff fines if the uneducated public jury decides your knife is in fact illegal as persuaded by the prosecution whom represents the state government.
That’s a tough call and is absolutely wrong. It is another massive step towards stripping the innocent and law-abiding public of their rights one at a time. If it hasn’t happened already, there will come a time to where interpreting and following the laws are impossible. You will simply have to throw yourself on the mercy of the court or the law enforcement officer that chooses to arrest you. Your choice will not be about fighting for justice, but about hanging your head in shame and admitting guilt whether you are or not.
These things are very scary to me. So, be careful out there. I don’t know about you, but I sure can’t afford a drawn out trial to prove that my pocket knife is legal or not. I would loose whether proven guilty or innocent.
