Paul Presto Folding Knife – Classic Collectible Knife

The origins of the Paul Presto Folding Collectible knife began about 30 years ago by a knife developer, Paul Poelmann. He developed these Axial locking knives. Gerber sold them in the 70’s and ended production in 1986.
This knife and story are very interesting and gives you a bit of history about the Lone Wolf Knife Company.
Paul Poehlmann arranged contact with the Lone Wolf Knife Company, which is a new company made up of former Gerber executives, in the late 1990’s and persuaded them to begin production again on these knives after Gerber sold the remaining parts to them.
Today, Lone Wolf Knives comes up with some incredible and very interesting knives using the Axial locking system.
The Lone Wolf Knives Paul Presto Folder with the Burl Wood Onlays happens to be one of my favorite collectible knife folders out there. I don’t have the luxury of owning one yet but did get to spend some time looking a few of them over first-hand.
These are, I hate to use the word beautiful, very good-looking knives. I really would have a hard time carrying one in my pocket as a casual knife, but I guess you could. They just look too nice, like they need to be mounted in a shadow box and shown off.
The Presto is pocket size, 3-1/2″ closed with a 2-3/8″ blade of 19C27 at 60-62 Rc. The liners are stainless steel as are all internal parts. There are two handle materials available, one is a burl wood and the other is Ivory Micarta.

I wouldn’t know what to tell you as far as carrying one of these knives in your pocket. I guess that’s what they’re made for, but they sure look nice enough to be hanging on the wall somewhere.
